Description of the Works

The project involved the execution of specialist structural works as part of the functional redevelopment and regulatory compliance works for the General Services Building, located within the University Campus in Rome.

In particular, Edilsystem S.r.l. acted as a specialist subcontractor, carrying out structural retrofit and controlled cutting works on reinforced concrete elements, aimed at creating structural joints and separating the floor slabs in accordance with the project specifications.

The works included linear cutting of reinforced concrete slabs using an electric wall saw fitted with a diamond blade, a technology designed to ensure clean and precise demolition with no significant vibrations affecting the existing structure.

The works were carried out within an existing and operational environment, requiring the use of low-impact techniques on reinforced concrete structures in order to minimise vibrations and induced stresses while ensuring precision, safety and high-quality execution.
