Description of the Works

The project significantly increased the seismic protection of the building by modifying its dynamic response and decoupling the superstructure from ground accelerations.

The works carried out included, in particular:

• Structural lifting of the building: controlled hydraulic lifting operations were performed to raise the entire building by 20 cm above its original level, creating the geometric clearance required for the installation of the seismic isolation system.
• Installation of seismic base isolators: installation and millimetric calibration of a combined system of elastomeric seismic isolators and multidirectional sliding bearings designed to decouple the structure from seismic ground motion.
