Description of Intervention

The seismic retrofit of the residential building located at Via Zara 4 in Potenza involved the implementation of highly specialized structural solutions designed to improve seismic performance and reduce the stresses transmitted to the superstructure.

Edilsystem S.r.l. directly and comprehensively managed the installation of the seismic isolation system at the base by installing “sliding pendulum” isolators, performing a controlled cut of the existing columns, the temporary transfer of vertical loads, and the subsequent safe return of the structure to service.

At the same time, foundation stabilization work was carried out through the installation of micropiles and the reinforcement of the plinths, as well as the widening and retrofitting of the reinforced concrete piers, incorporating steel structures and high-performance structural concrete.

The project, carried out in accordance with the Technical Standards for Construction and the most advanced seismic retrofit procedures, has significantly improved the building’s dynamic behavior while preserving its structural integrity and functionality.
