Description of the Works

As part of the integrated redevelopment programme for the residential building located at Via Drammis 36/38 in Brescia, funded through the Complementary Fund to Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Edilsystem S.r.l. acted as a specialist technology partner for the execution of the complex structural engineering works required for the seismic upgrading of the building.

The core of the project involved the dynamic upgrading of the existing building through the installation of an advanced seismic base isolation system comprising 31 seismic isolators and 28 sliding bearings. The distinctive complexity of this project lay in the need to work directly on the reinforced concrete columns and shear walls of the semi-basement structural frame while managing the complete transfer of the building’s vertical loads.
