Description of the Works

The project involved the restoration and structural strengthening of the historic San Pietro Bridge, dating back to the 1930s, a seven-span structure built according to the Gerber system.

The works became necessary due to severe deterioration of the concrete soffit and extensive corrosion of the steel reinforcement, caused over time by the infiltration of saline water through the joints of the Gerber cantilevers.

In particular, Edilsystem carried out the repair of deteriorated reinforced concrete and the installation of prestressed Dywidag bars.
