Description of the Works

Specialist works carried out directly for the static and seismic upgrading of the existing reinforced concrete arch bridge, originally built in 1929.

The structural project involved the progressive installation of a series of local strengthening and reinforcement measures aimed at bringing the structure into compliance with the load requirements of current regulations.

The works carried out included:

• Structural steel plating using Corten steel
• Specialist strengthening using FRCM systems
• Construction of a new composite structural slab
• Installation of bracing systems and rock drilling
• Anchoring using stainless steel helical bars
