Description of the Works

The project involved an integrated retrofit strategy aimed at decoupling the superstructure from seismic ground motion by intervening directly beneath the original foundation structures.

The specialist works included deep foundation strengthening using micropiles and retrofit seismic isolation of 29 columns through the installation of seismic isolators and sliding bearings.
